The position is presented by Centaur, the National Chamber of Tourism, CCH, the Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels, Caceres, the National Chamber of Restaurants, ACOPROT, the Costa Rican Association of Tourism Professionals; Ascot, the Costa Rican Association of Tourism Operators, ACAV the Costa Rican Association of Tour and the National Network of Small Hotels.
These organizations believe that the negative effects suffered by the industry if it were part of the impact of the crisis experienced by the sector and that such a statement would help more points against.
Manuel Burgos, Caceres new president has said that ‘the issue of declaration of emergency is not viable because they lack an objective basis, its intention is to provide respite from a crisis situation that is not true and it is unreasonable as it may involve false appreciation of the real situation of Costa Rica. This would create a country’s deteriorating image and our business sector, creating a negative climate for investment, losing competitiveness within the area, resulting in jobs and economic encumbrances, and possible increases in goods and services. ”
Representatives of the sect oral chambers indicated that such a declaration could lead to the closure of credit lines for the sector, discourage investment, increased operating costs, higher goods and services and job insecurity.
